Understanding The Holy Spirit

It is not our intention to create a full Bible study here but rather to present this material with a hands-on approach. Further, it is not our intent to "push" anything on you. We present this information to the best of our ability and you are free to take from it whatever you choose. Does it not make sense that in order to understand the spiritual world we actually live in we should have the assistance of the one who created it? The Holy Spirit is the tangible, physical presence of God available to every one of us. It is God and it is available to you simply for the asking. There are some requirements however. Remember to keep an open mind with all of this. The requirements, although very simple, are controversial for some. Lets look at the following scripture:

Acts 2:38 (NKJV)

38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

If you have used the name of Jesus and discovered its power in the spirit world then you might consider exploring this a little further. Believing that Jesus was truly the son of God and came to earth in the flesh and that he died for the forgiveness of our sins is a requirement to receive the Holy Spirit. This is the very heart of Christianity. If you ask for the forgiveness of your sins in the name of Jesus and ask for the Holy Spirit to be in your life, you will then have the Spirit of God Himself in you. Yes the Spirit of God will join with your spirit to teach and guide you about all things. As your creator, God has the right to put rules in place that we should live by just as we do in our daily non spiritual earthly lives. If we break these spiritual guidelines it is referred to as sin. Seems simple enough. Believing in Jesus and asking forgiveness for not following your creator's laws allows you to receive God's Spirit joined to your spirit so that God can guide help you understand His expectations for you. Remember that paranormal happenings are based on breaking His rules (sins) in one area or another. Spirits haunt homes and properties because they have a right to. Observe the following scriptures:

Romans 8:16 (NKJV)

The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,

John 14:25-26 (NKJV)

25 “These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

If you are having spiritual intrusions in your life, an important aspect of receiving the Holy Spirit is that you will gain authority over the spirit world around you. This is the main purpose of this website afterall. We discussed in the authority page that commanding evil spirits to leave will in indeed make them leave. We also discussed the fact that the spirits will try to determine if you in fact know Jesus and are not just throwing around His name. Well, having the Holy Spirit in you is the same as having Jesus within you. Remember the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one and different at the same time. This makes your authority complete. You simply have to practice it. Here are scriptures confirming that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus:

1 Peter 1:11 (NKJV)

searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.

Acts 16:7 (NKJV)

After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them.

Acts 16:7 (NLT)

Then coming to the borders of Mysia, they headed north for the province of Bithynia, but again the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them to go there.

The last scripture in particular demonstrates that the Holy Spirit and Spirit of Jesus can be used interchangeably as demonstrated in the two different Bible versions listed. So if the Spirit of Jesus is in you, then the spirits will realize you do know Him and that you have true authority. Keep in mind that this new found spiritual authority will have to be used and developed through practical use. What better place to start than your haunted house! This spiritual authority is absolute. Jesus is alive and well in the spirit world where He has been granted all authority as confirmed in the scripture below. And remember, the Holy Spirit is not just available to priests and pastors and those with high positions in the church. It is available to anyone who asks!

Colossians 1:16-17 (NKJV)

For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

Here is another scripture that clearly describes your position of authority after receiving the Holy Spirit.(Him refers to Jesus)

Colossians 2:9-10 (NKJV)

9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; 10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.
If you would like to experience the Holy Spirit for yourself you only need to say a simple prayer. You need to cover the following things:

1.) You have been living your life according to your own rules and not the rules of your creator (God). You need to ackowledge this by asking forgiveness for breaking God's laws (sins).

2.) You need to acknowledge that Jesus is the son of God who came to the earth in the body of a man who was willingly and wrongfully executed (sacrificed) so that our sins can be forgiven and we can recieve His Spirit in us as the Holy Spirit.

3.) Acknowledge that His blood spilt at His crucifiction was offered to God the Father as a sacrifice for all of humanity in that we can be granted amnesty (forgiven) for our breaking of God's spiritual laws (sins).

4.) You need to ask Jesus (Holy Spirit) into your heart to guide and teach you about the things of the spirit world and provide a bridge between you and the creator (God).

5.) You will live by the spiritual rules set out by your creator (God) and not those you have been living by until now. The Holy Spirit will help you with this.

If you are serious about this then recite the above five things in your own words and end the prayer in the name of Jesus. This is all that is required to receive the help of the Holy Spirit. If you manage to find a Spirit filled church, you can receive Baptism in water to confirm your commitment to God. You can also receive Holy Spirit baptism through the laying on of hands by other Spirit filled individuals. This will help to confirm your spiritual gifts and purpose. Once you have accomplished this you will need further instructions from a spiritual manual of the creator's guidelines (Bible). Start with the New Testament. You should also regularly attend a Holy Spirit filled church to assist you in learning and progressing through your spiritual development.
